ABOUT US

AETTA was established in 1992 and counts today over one thousand members representing 47 countries. Reflecting the globalised nature of the travel and tourism industry almost 35% of our members come today from outside of Europe. AETTA works with its members and all key industry players to contribute to the development of the European travel and tourism sector.

OBJECTIVES

The travel and tourism sector is the backbone of the European economy and employs 12% of the European workforce. Contributing to long-term success of our members and our societies as a whole, we pursue one paramount goal: the sustainable growth of the European travel and tourism sector. To achieve that AETTA has defined a set of objectives, which it pursues alongside its members.

MEMBERSHIP

AETTA has a strong reputation allowing it to represent the European travel and tourism sector with all major industry stakeholders including national and European regulators. By becoming a member of AETTA you join a growing network of travel and tourism agencies operating all over Europe. AETTA has a two-layer membership structure: associate and strategic membership.

AETTA unites both European agencies and overseas operators focused on European destinations. Pursuing the sustainable development of the European travel and tourism sector the Association works in the interests of all its members.

OUR ROLES

Being the industry practitioners, AETTA's members recognise that the sustainable growth of the travel and tourism sector is not possible without key conditions that must be met by industry participants and the European society as a whole. AETTA defines them as follows: safe and secure travel, top class infrastructure, diverse and efficient transport options, healthy environment and fair competition. Our role is to pursue these objectives by influencing diverse groups of decision-makers at European and national levels. Equally important is our role in providing a common platform for our members to foster networking opportunities and disseminate industry insights and best practice.
